چکیده

This work is focused on exploring the flow and heat transfer capabilities for slotted axisymmetric cavity configurations synthetic impinging jets; jet enclosed between two isothermal parallel plates, into top hot plate. Numerical simulations using Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulation of Navier-Stokes equations are performed Reynolds numbers 50, 300 500 a formation criteria 3. The pattern from both differ, which result in different behaviors. wider than one, showing an increased turbulent mixing lower velocity deficit. On other hand, narrower configuration results less more penetration, with higher leads to peak faster decay when moving away centerline observed configuration.

Heat Transfer Characteristics of Swirling Impinging Jets

Impinging jets are used in a wide number of industrial cooling applications due to their high heat and mass transfer abilities. The current research is concerned with the effect of swirl on the heat transfer characteristics of jet impingement cooling. Two inserts were designed order to generate swirling flow. These two designs, “Swirl Insert A” and “Swirl Insert B”, were tested at various Reyno...

Simulation and measurement of flow and heat transfer in two planar impinging jets

The flow and heat transfer in two planar impinging jets are investigated using Large-Eddy simulation and experiments. The jet Reynolds number based on nozzle width and centerline velocity is 500. Predictions are obtained of unforced jets in addition to forced cases in which periodic injection and suction is applied at the nozzle exit of each jet. The goal of the current effort is to characteriz...

Axi-symmetric Stagnation–Point Flow and Heat Transfer Obliquely Impinging on a Rotating Circular Cylinder

Laminar stagnation flow, axi-symmetrically yet obliquely impinging on a rotating circular cylinder, as well as its heat transfer is formulated as an exact solution of the Navier-Stokes equations. Rotational velocity of the cylinder is time-dependent while the surface transpiration is uniform and steady. The impinging stream is composed of a rotational axial flow superposed onto irrotational rad...

Heat Transfer under Double Turbulent Pulsating Jets Impinging on a Flat Surface

In this study, the numerical analysis of turbulent flow and heat transfer of double pulsating impinging jets on a flat surface has been investigated. The unsteady two-dimensional numerical solution for two similar and dissimilar jets was performed using the RNG k-ε model. The results showed that the RNG k-ε model has more satisfactory predictions of the Nusselt number distribution. Comparisons ...
